Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the loss of an image even when the image is subjected to an optional enlargement treatment, by dividing stored data of the image in accordance with a designated enlargement rate and then, enlarging the divided data to be developed into an output memory. CONSTITUTION:When a full image 'F' in a page memory 24 is enlarged and developed, supposing, for example, that the enlargement corresponds to four times in a longitudinal direction of the capacity of a pattern developing memory 26, a data dividing unit 23 divides the full image 'F' of the page memory 24 into four and orders enlargement or development for each of the divided images. In the case where the inputted image in the page memory 24 is large in size, and if the host computer designates the enlargement rate two times, the data dividing unit 23 divides the image in the page memory 24 into two, namely, a segment D1 and a segment D2. In a pattern enlarging and developing unit 25, the segment D1 is enlarged twice in the longitudinal direction and developed to the pattern developing memory 26 to be printed. Thereafter, the segment D2 is enlarged twice in the longitudinal direction to be printed in the similar manner as the segment D1.
