Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a highly accurate and stable feeding of printing papers differing in the number of copies and contrive higher accuracy of printing, by controlling the driving speed of a paper-feeding motor so as to ensure paper feeding with an optimum rotating force according to the number of copies of the printing papers. CONSTITUTION:When data is inputted from a host system through an interface 4 for external systems, the data is transferred to an MPU 1. When the inputted data is an instruction for paper feed, the MPU 1 requests a paper feed controlling circuit 11 of a paper feed velocity data, whereas the controlling circuit 11 receives data on the number of copies of papers from a copy switch 10, retrieves data on an optimum paper feed velocity from a motor acceleration/ deceleration data ROM 12, and transfers the result to the MPU 1. The MPU 1 controls the paper feed controlling circuit 11 based on the data, whereby a paper-feeding motor 9 is driven at an optimum speed. When data on optimum paper feed velocities for a multi-copy paper comprising a predetermined number of copies and for a single-copy paper are stored in the ROM 12, the motor 9 can be driven at an optimum speed, a high paper feeding accuracy can be obtained, and a higher printing accuracy can be contrived.
