Abstract
PURPOSE:To suppress the consumption of electrodes with the simple constitution by allowing the electric discharge current in a trapezoidal wave form having the gentle starting-up characteristic to flow between the electrodes by using two pulse power source circuits, inductance element, and a resistor. CONSTITUTION:A signal is outputted into the pulse control circuit 13 of the first pulse power source circuit 7 from a control circuit 22, and a switching element 10 is turned ON, and when the electric discharge current having the gentle starting-up characteristic starts electric conduction between electrodes 5 and 6 through a resistance 11 and an inductance element 12 from a dc power source discharge, the control circuit 22 turns OFF the switching element 10 after a prescribed time, and the electromagnetic energy stored in the inductance element 12 is supplied through a diode 14. At the same time, the switching element 18 of the second pulse power source circuit 8 is turned OFF, and the electric discharge current in a trapezoidal wave form flows between the electrodes, having the similar starting up/down characteristic through a resistance 17 and an inductance element 16. Therefore, the reduction of the electrode consumption can be suppressed.
