Abstract

PURPOSE:To regenerate active carbon catalysts efficiently by flowing hydrochloric acid and air simultaneously through a catalyst layer with active carbon catalysts which is lowered catalyst performance by the oxidative reaction treatment of water solution containing sodium sulfide, peeping an oxidative reactor intact as it is. CONSTITUTION:Granular active carbon catalysts or fiber-like active carbon catalysts which is lowered catalyst performance by the oxidative reaction treatment of water solution containing sodium sulfide, filled in an oxidative reactor, are regenerated by passing through of hydrochloric acid and air keeping the reactor intact as it is. It is proper to add one or two or all of the process among processes of exposing sufficiently the catalyst layer to air or oxygen current prior to said flowing process of hydrochloric acid, of washing the catalyst layer while passing through the air just before the process of flowing through hydrochloric acid, and of washing the catalysts while passing through the air after the process of flowing through hydrochloric acid.
