Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the accurate and highly precise calculation of the position of the minimum radius of a wheel, by setting the positions of guide shafts in the directions opposite to the center of a lift cylinder mutually. CONSTITUTION:The positions of guide shafts 19 are set in the directions opposite to the center of a lift cylinder 14 mutually, and a wheel clamp elements 54 is provided with a plurality of chuck blocks which can be inserted into the hub hole of a wheel and can be made to engage with an disengage from the inner peripheral surface of the hub hole. When the shafts 19 operate to project, i.e. when measurement is conducted, a distributed thrust acting in the horizontal direction is absorbed by bearings 18 located on lines connecting the cylinder 14 and the shafts 19 respectively, and the respective surface pressures of the bearings 18 on the occasion are made to act in the different directions from one another outside a cylinder case 25, according to this constitution. Thereby the horizontal displacement of a piston rod 15 is prevented and the stability of the case 25 against vibrations from inside and outside is increased. Accordingly, vibrations of shafts in a lifter element 13 and the clamp element 54 are prevented and the stability in measurement is secured.
