Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the transmission time of a picture document by facsimile- transmitting the picture document from an image memory without through a hard disk equipment when the number of pages in the picture document to be transmitted is small than reference data. CONSTITUTION:If a CPU1 receives the designation of the number of the pages in the picture document to be transmitted, it reads, reference data from a table for judging the number of facsimile transmission pages 10 and compares it with the designated number of pages (designated data). If designated data is less than reference data, the designated storage picture document is read from an optical disk equipment 3 through an optical disk control part 2, and they are sequentially stored in the image memory 4. The picture document is read from the image memory 4, and the picture document is transferred to a facsimile equipment 8 through a facsimile control part 7. The picture document is sequentially transmitted from the facsimile equipment 8 to an opposite facsimile equipment 9 from a first page to a designated page.
