Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve handling properties such as an anastomic property, a suturing property and fray resistance and to also provide a kinking property and bio-compatibility, by constituting the title artificial blood vessel of an extremely fine fiber having a specific dimension and a specific amount of a high-molecular elastomer and obtaining a predetermined shape holding ratio and fray resistance. CONSTITUTION:A tube is formed using an extremely fine fiber of 0.8dtex or less. 45-3pts.wt. of the fiber of an elastomer is applied to said tube directly or after raising treatment is applied to said tube, and the deformation degree of the tube diameter of an artificial blood vessel, that is, the shape holding ratio thereof calculated when load of 50g is placed on the artificial blood vessel having a length of 20cm for 3min and thereafter removed is set to 80% or more. Further, yarn is passed through the artificial blood vessel at the position of 2mm from the cut end thereof to form a loop, and this loop and the other end of the artificial blood vessel are pulled by a tensile tester until fray is generated and the max. load at that time, that is, fray resistance is set to 500g or more.
