Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the title powder milk which is effective for preventing infections caused by disease-causative microorganisms in bottle-fed babies, and safe, by adding a specific peptide bonding to sialic acid to the milk as a prophylactic component. CONSTITUTION:Sialic acid-binding proteins originating from cow milk and/or a sialic acid-binding peptide produced by treatment with protease is added as a prophylactic component against infections to give the subject milk. The protein is kappa-casein and the peptide is preferably a glycomacropeptide originating from cow milk.
