Abstract

PURPOSE:To effect automatic tracking easily and correctly, by a method wherein an element, having the same temperature coefficient as that of a piezo-electric body, is employed as a vibration detecting element. CONSTITUTION:A vibration detecting element 6 is provided on one part of the surface of a stator for an ultrasonic motor while the stator is constituted of a disc type elastic body 1 and piezo-electric bodies 2, 3 for driving. An output transmitting member or a projection is provided at an output fetching position 4 on the stator while a vibration detecting element 6, consisting of a piezo-electric body, is provided on the surface of the elastic body 1, which is opposed to said piezo-electric bodies 2, 3. The element 6 is provided at the output fetching position 4, whereat the output becomes to have the maximum amplitude. A rotor is provided so as to contacted with the stator. According to this method, the affection of the heat generation in the ultrasonic motor may be removed and the automatic tracking of frequency may be effected.
