Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the coincidence of directivity of a display of the surface and the reverse side of a double-sided document by reading simultaneously the surface and the reverse side of the double-sided document, and rotating an image data which has been read from the reverse side, by 180 deg. and outputting it, when it has been designated to a document of horizontal filing and horizontal write. CONSTITUTION:A double-sided document 3 is carried by a carrying roller 2, a surface reading part 1 reads the surface of the document 3, and a reverse side reading part 4 reads the reverse side of the document 3 by scanning it from the direction reverse to the case of reading the surface. Read information of the reading part 4 is stored in a reverse side use image buffer 5. In case an operator operating part 8 is set to a double-sided document processing, a read image of the reading part 1 and a read image of the reverse side of the buffer 5 are inputted alternately to a line buffer 7 by a selector 6. In case the information which has been stored in the buffer 7 is the reverse side, a shift register 9 is shifted in reverse and brought to parallel/serial conversion, therefore, said information is stored in a state that is has rotated by 180 deg.. Accordingly, the reverse side image in the same direction as the surface can be displayed on a display part 13.
