Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the stop time of a rotary press, by arranging the second new printing plate stocker for receiving a new printing plate from the first stocker and the second used printing plate stocker for delivering a used printing plate to the first stocker between a plate cylinder and the printing plate side of a printing plate feed apparatus. CONSTITUTION:When the printing plate of a plate cylinder 2 is replaced, the feed track of a printing plate feed apparatus 1 is repeatedly moved reciprocally between the first new printing plate stocker 4 and the second new printing plate stockers (7a-7c) during printing to take out a new printing plate 3 from the first stocker 4 and the taken out new printing plate is temporarily placed on the second stockers 7a-7c. Next, the printing plate of the plate cylinder 2 is detached with the stoppage of a rotary press to be temporarily placed on the second used printing plate stockers 8a-8c and, subsequently, the printing plate on the second printing plate stockers 7a-7c is mounted to the plate cylinder 2. Thereafter, the feed track is allowed to reciprocate to take out a used printing plate from the stockers 8a-8c to receive the same in the first used printing plate stocker 5.
