Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the quality and thickness accuracy of rolled sheet stocks by installing a straight sensor provided with a detection bar and a detection head inside a screw up male screw and directly detecting a position of the screw. CONSTITUTION:A fixing case 18 fixing the top of a detection bar 19 is installed inside a screw up male screw 3, supporting plate 5, and a metal 6 and is anchored to a case 17. A guide block 21 holds a fixing rod 26 in the vertical direction and moving amounts of the screw 3 are accurately and electrically detected through a lead wire 27. A straight sensor permanently keeps its accuracy because a detector including a detection bar 19 is housed in the fixing rod 26 sliding on liners 28, 30. Hence, a position of a lower roll is accurately and rapidly adjusted through a lower roll bearing 2. Therefore, the quality and sheet thickness accuracy of rolled sheet stocks are improved.
