Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent reduction of laser output by regenerating circulating mixed gas through catalyst reaction after introducing carbon monoxide. CONSTITUTION:In a gas circulating path, a reducing valve 1, an oscillator 2, a circulating pump 3, a catalytic reactor 4, an O2 monitoring device 5 and a CO introduction device 6 are arranged. Laser oscillation is conducted within the oscillator 2. The catalytic reactor 4 provided in the gas path of the laser oscillator is filled with Pt/Rh.Al2O3 and the mixed gas is heated to 250 deg.C at the inlet side of the catalytic reactor. In the meantime, the increasing amount of O2 is detected by the O2 monitoring device then CO is introduced to the circulating gas through the CO introduction device 6 so that it becomes twice as much as the increasing amount of O2. By mixing CO in the circulating gas, O2 and H2O, if leak, are not convered into CO2 by catalytic reaction. Since O2 and H2O are not accumulated in this way, laser output does not drop.
