Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase a measurable flow rate range of fuel, and improve the atomization function thereof by applying, to an piezoelectric element, two pulse driving signals which are synchronous with the resonance frequency of a horn and have two different amplitudes. CONSTITUTION:Two pulse driving signals which are generated synchronously with the resonance frequency of a horn 1, provided on an intake pipe 4, and have two respective different amplitudes are applied to a piezoelectric element 5 which drives the horn 1 to make displacement. Therefore, the horn 1 always oscillates with the resonance frequency to atomize fuel at all times. When the first pulse driving signal with a smaller amplitude is applied, the fuel is not jetted because a jet hole 21 is blocked with a ball 8. The second pulse driving signal with a larger amplitude is then inserted therein by a driving signal supply means at a specified interval. The oscillation of the horn 1 is enlarged accordingly, so that the jet hole 21 is opened because the ball 8 is detached therefrom. As a result, the fuel is jetted while the flow rate thereof is controlled according to the pulse width.
