Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a current energizable to a current-energization heating wire rod without changing a design for the structure of a universal cylinder head heretofore in use by installing a current-energizing part in response to a glow plug inserting hole, and insertedly setting up a conductive plug in this inserting hole. CONSTITUTION:In case of an internal combustion engine which has a glow plug inserting hole 4 and also has a ceramic swirl chamber 6 where a current-energization heating wire rod (W wire) 13 is embedded inside swirl chamber body 7, an upper end of this wire 13 is connected to a lead wire 14 and inserted into an inserting hole 9b, and it is exposed to the outside from the opening, thereby forming a current- energizing part. When a conductive plug 17 is insertedly set up in the glow plug inserting hole 4, a contact terminal at a tip of the conductive plug 17 comes into contact with this current-energizing part, whereby it is made energizable to the wire 13. The contact terminal of the conductive plug 17 is always pressed to the current- energizing part by dint of a conductive spring member so that it is surely energized to the wire 13, thus combustibility in the whirl chamber is improved. Owing to this method, a current can be energized to the wire 13 without entailing any design change in the structure of a cylinder head heretofore in use.
