PURPOSE:To obtain a carbon part having long life, by specifying the bulk density, specific resistance, flexural strength, apparent porosity and true specific gravity of the carbon part. CONSTITUTION:The objective carbon part has a bulk density of 1.5-2.0g/cm<3>, a specific resistance of 500-1,900muOMEGAcm, a flexural strength of >=300kg/cm<2>, an apparent porosity of 0.1-7.0% and a true specific gravity of <=2.10. Since the carbon part has a bulk density of 1.5-2.0g/cm<3>, the excessive roughening of the surface and excessive graphitization can be prevented. The flexural strength of >=300kg/cm<2> prevents the excessive weakening of the bonding force between carbon particles. The specific resistance of 500-1,900muOMEGAcm is effective in preventing the excessive increase of the crystallinity of carbon particle resulting in the loss of hardness and preventing the difficulty in temperature control caused by excessive heat-generation.
