Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily and positively fix a shock-absorbing member by pressing the shock-absorbing member made of an isobutylene-isoprene rubber against the outer periphery of a lamp-housing made of polypropylene by means of a tool-horn having a contact face with a recessed part on its head. CONSTITUTION:When a shock-absorbing member 2 made of a synthetic rubber is fixed on the outer periphery of a lamp-housing 1a made of polypropylene, an isobutylene-isoprene rubber is used as the shock-absorbing member 2. The shock-absorbing member 2 is first pressed against the lamp-housing 1a by means of a tool-horn 7, and both 1a, 2 are fixed to each other by the anchor-effect caused by an ultrasonic welding operation. At this time, a contact face corresponding to the member 2 being fixed is formed on the head of the tool-horn 7, and a recessed part is provided on the contact face. Thus, the shock-absorbing member 2 can be easily and efficiently fixed with uniform strengths without using toxic chemicals and without damaging the appearance.
