Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate work for visually replacing the color of an adjacent tooth with a color sample, by displaying the color image of the adjacent tooth and that of a teeth color sample formed into the same shape as the outer shape of an artificial tooth in contrast with each other under the same condition by the same color image display. CONSTITUTION:The adjacent tooth of a tooth to be treated is photographed by a color camera 11 while illuminated under a definite illumination condition and displayed on the picture of a color CRT 12 through a controller. Herein, a color demodulation circuit 30 is used in order to separate R-, G- and B-signals, from the composite color image signal obtained from the color camera 11 and an R-Y signal, a G-Y signal and a B-Y signal, all of which are obtained by subtracting a brightness signal Y from the R-, G- and B-signals, are outputted from the color demodulation circuit 30 and synthesized with the brightness signal Y by the RGB output amplifying circuit 32 in the color television 31 for the color CRT 12 to be outputted to the color CRT 12. Then, a floppy disk having the color data of the adjacent tooth and the number selection data of a shade guide stored therein is regenerated on the picture of the color CRT 12 and an artificial tooth is prepared on reference to this image.
