Abstract
PURPOSE:To use a portable memory medium as the transmission medium between a dentist and a denturist, by storing the data relating to the color image of an adjacent tooth or the hue data of the selected color sample of the teeth in the portable memory medium. CONSTITUTION:An adjacent tooth is photographed under a definite illumination condition by a color camera 11 to be displayed on the picture of a color CRT 12 through controller 14 and each region of an artificial tooth is visually replaced with a shade guide while the color distribution of the adjacent tooth 17 is referred to. The obtained color image data is stored in a portable data memory medium such as a floppy disk 13. When a natural tooth or shade guide is displayed on the color CRT 12, it is sufficient if there are 64 gradations. By this method, the color data of the adjacent tooth 17 and the floppy disk 13 having the number selection data of the shade guide stored therein are regenerated on the picture of the color CRT 12 and, from this image, an artificial tooth is prepared.
