Abstract

PURPOSE:To expand the dynamic range of an optical signal reception level by providing a monostable multivibrator between a comparator and an integration device of an optical reception circuit. CONSTITUTION:The monostable multivibrator 4 inserted between a comparator 3 and an integration device 5 to equalize the detection output signal 13 of the comparator 3 is provided. An optical signal 11 modulated from the original data signal 10 by a carrier component is converted into a signal 12 by a photodetector 1 and an AC amplifier 2. Then the pulse width outputted from the comparator 3 is changed by the strength of the input optical signal 11. Since the pulse width is equalized by the monostable multivibrator 4, the output signal 15 of the integration device 5 is made stable and the output signal of the comparator 6 reproduce accurately the original data signal 10.
