Abstract
The signal read from a recording carrier, particularly the video signal, is supplied to the input of an amplifier (19). The output of the amplifier is connected via a filter (20), a rectifier arrangement (21) and a low-pass filter (22) to a first input of a threshold device (23) constructed as Schmitt trigger. A second input of the threshold device is also supplied with the signal from the output of the amplifier via a rectifier arrangement (26) acting as amplitude detector and a further low-pass filter (27). When the ratio between the amplitude of the signal supplied to the first input of the threshold device and the amplitude of the signal supplied to the second input of the threshold device has dropped to a particular value, the threshold device generates a switching signal. This indicates that dropout interference is present. <IMAGE>
