Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate only when dropout is produced in an audio information component, by detecting the level of an audio carrier component and producing a dropout detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The audio carrier signal separated from the band pass filter BPF2 is input to the demodulator 4 via the limiter 4'. The output of the demodulator 4 is output via the switch 5. The signal level in the limiter 4' is detected at the level detector 12 to control the head amplifier 1. The output of the level detector 12 and the reference voltage Vr are compared at the level comparator 13, and the pulsive signal with this compared output is expanded by a given width at the pulse width strecher 14 to obtain on/off signal of the switch 5.
