Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of circuit by recording pilots signals of 2 kinds of frequencies between digital data alternately for each track in a way that pilot signals of adjacent tracks are overlapped by a half each. CONSTITUTION:One track is split into at least one or over while two sections are taken as one set and pilot signals f1, f2 of two kinds of frequencies are recorded between digital data in one section for a prescribed period alternately for each track in a way that the pilot signals f1, f2 of adjacent tracks are overlapped by a half each. Reproduced pilot signals of two sections taken as one set are detected at reproduction, a crosstalk from the pilot signal having a different frequency of the adjacent track to that of the first pilot signal in the two sections is subjected to sample and hold and the crosstalk from the pilot signal of the other adjacent track in the latter section is subjected to sample and hold and the level difference of both the cross talk quantities is obtained.
