Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of explosion accident by which a large quantity of molten metal is instantly flowed in a pulverizing device with some trouble of a metal melting furnace, by isolating the metal melting furnace and the pulverizing device with cooling water to the molten metal in the metal powder production apparatus and connecting the furnace and device with a molten metal transporting pipe. CONSTITUTION:The melting furnace 1 for the metal to be pulverized and the pulverizing device 2 rapidly cooling and pulverizing the molten metal with the cooling water are isolately arranged and both are connected with the transporting pipe 3. The metal to be powderized is charged into a crucible 4 in the melting furnace 1 and power is conducted on a high frequency coil at outer periphery of the crucible 4 to melt the metal in the crucible 4 by induction power. The molten metal is sent to the pulverizing device 2 from a suction nozzle 16 with high pressure inert gas of Ar, etc., supplied from a blowing hole 19 into the crucible 4 through a transporting pipe 3 providing heating means 18 and the cooling water 14 is injected to a rotating drum formed wall-like from a nozzle 17 by centrifugal force and rapidly cooled and pulverized by the cooling water. In this case, if some trouble happens in the metal melting furnace, the occurrence of the explosion accident with the cooling water caused by flowing of a large quantity of molten metal is prevented because the pulverizing device 2 is isolated from the melting furnace 1.
