Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Light from the object 1 which is incident through an image pickup lens 2 is image-formed on the image pickup surface of a two-dimensional sensor 4 and a signal obtained by the two-dimensional sensor 4 is displayed as an image on the screen of a monitor 16. Wavelength information which is passed through an optical distributor 3 and a convergence system 9 and diffracted spectrally by a spectral system 11 is converted into position information by a linear sensor 12 and the information is further converted from a voltage to time and displayed on the monitor 16 as a bright line 18 indicating the spectral characteristics. Thus, the spectral characteristics of the object are observed qualitatively, so the relative relation of the continuous wavelength can be grasped. Further, there is no need for another device such as a spectroscope and the spectral characteristics of the object are grasped in contrast with the image.
