Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain multiplex communication with simple constitution without using exclusive interface by providing a device specifying means specifying other multiplex transmitter with a pulse width of a signal outputted to a common signal line. CONSTITUTION:A multiplex transmitter applies data transmission/reception with other multiplex transmitter M3 via a common signal line M1 connected via an input means and/or output means M2. Then based on the pulse width of the signal outputted to the common signal line M1, the device specifying means M4 specifies the device M3. Thus, multiplex transmission is attained by having only to adopt the constitution to discriminate the pulse width. Then a comparatively slow multiplex signal can be used without using a special serial communication port for communication, the procedure required for the multiplex communication is simplified and the cost is reduced.
