Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce temperature up inside the titled processor and to improve picture quality by preventing a picture processing circuit from generating a clock when the circuit is not used. CONSTITUTION:A CCD 10 is driven by a CCD driving circuit 33. The original timing is due to a clock signal which an oscillation circuit 34 generates. The oscillation circuit 34 prohibits oscillation when a signal S1 from a control part 20 is switched off and outputs the oscillation clock when the signal S1 is switched on. An analogue picture signal which has been outputted from the CCD 10 is amplified in an amplifier circuit 30, and whose noise components are removed in a sample and hold circuit 31, whereby they are converted into the digital picture signal of a multi-level in an A/D converter 32. Since these circuits operate based on the clock signal which the oscillation circuit 34 generates, heat generation, noise and consumption power can be reduced by stopping the clock signal.
