Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the internal resistance of a polarizing electrode and to increase available current intensity, by composing a bonding agent of a material obtained by carbonization of an organic bonding agent. CONSTITUTION:A bonding agent for a polarizing electrode, whose main components are active carbon, electrolyte and a bonding agent, is composed of a material obtained by carbonization of an organic bonding agent. As the carbide treating material of the organic bonding agent, e.g., a material obtained by carbonization of a resin is listed. As a resin, e.g., polymethyl(meth)acrylate, polyethyl(meth)acrylate or the like is used. Since the active carbons are bonded with the material obtained by carbonization of the organic bonding agent, the electric resistance of the material obtained by carbonization becomes small in comparison with the one before the carbonization. Thus, the internal resistance of the polarizing electrode, in which electrolyte liquid is impregnated, becomes small. In this way, the current loss in a double-layer electric capacitor using said polarizing electrode can be made less.
