In the equation I, (x) is the length of the perpendicular from one point on the aspherical surface with a distance (h) from the optical axis to a plane contacting the peak of the aspherical surface, (h) is the distance from the optical axis, S is the curvature of a spherical surface inscribed with the peak of the aspherical surface, (k) and A, B... are spherical surface constants, (k) is a conic constant, A, B... are coefficients of terminals proportional to the values of (h) raised to the 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th... power, and (k), A, B... are not 0 at the same time. Consequently, the astigmatism becomes extremely small and pleasant visual sensation is obtained.
