Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable execution of high-efficient thawing during the use of a cold heat and to shorten the ice accumulation rise time during generation of a cold heat, by a method wherein the interior of an ice heat accumulating tank is partitioned into a number of sections, the lower part of each ice heat accumulating tank is connected to a coupling pipe through an on-off valve, and a circulating line for water is branched from the coupling pipe to form the circulating line between a heat exchanger and each ice heat accumulating tank. CONSTITUTION:During accumulation of ice, an on-off valve 10a is opened, water in an ice heat accumulating tank 2a is fed to an ice making machine 8 through a coupling pipe 11, and fragments of ice are fed to the ice heat accumulating tank 2a through an ice conveying machine 9 and a branch damper 12a to fill the ice heat accumulating tank therewith. An amount of ice in the ice heat accumulating tank 2a is increased to a specified value, the on-off valve 10a is closed, a sluice valve 13a is opened, and through running of a pump 4, water in the coupling pipe 11 is fed to the tank until a water level in the tank is increased to a specified value. Second-sixth ice heat accumulating tanks 2b-2f are successively filled with fragments of ice and water. During the use of cold heat, the on-off valve 10a and the sluice valve 13a of a spray head 5a are opened and the pump 4 is run to circulate water in the ice heat accumulating tank 2a, and cold heat is fetched by means of a heat exchanger 3 for use. The above operations are effected on all of the tanks after another to fetch all amounts of cold heat.
