Conventionally, as shown in Utility Application No. 59-13743 filed by the present applicant, a hot water heat exchanger was installed inside and connected to a radiator installed on the floor via a circulation pump, and hot water was heated by the heat generated by the combustion burner. A heater has been proposed that heats a heat exchanger to perform floor heating, and also blows hot exhaust air into the room as hot air for hot air heating. However, in this conventional example, when the circulation pump is stopped, floor heating is stopped, and only hot air heating is used, the hot water accumulated in the hot water heat exchanger is heated by the combustion burner and boils and vaporizes, causing an abnormal gurgling noise. The problem was that it would be in a dry firing state.

In view of this point, this idea was developed by providing an underwater opening in the water surface of the storage tank in the conduit connecting the heat exchanger and the storage tank, so as to prevent abnormal noises even when hot air heating is operated alone. An air opening is provided at the top, and one of the conduits connected to the heat exchanger is provided with a trap portion or a valve device, etc., which is guided above the water surface of the storage tank.

When the floor heating is stopped and only hot air heating is performed, the driving of the circulation pump 18 is stopped and hot water circulation is stopped. Then, the hot water in the heat exchanger 12 gradually boils and vaporizes due to the combustion heat of the combustion burner 2, and an air opening 1 is formed in the storage tank 14 located at a higher position than the heat exchanger 12.
Steam flows into the heat exchanger 12 through the heat exchanger 12.
There will be no water inside.

Conventionally, when such a dry firing condition occurred, water vapor was supplied into the water in the storage tank 14, causing a gurgling sound, but if the air opening 16 is provided as in this invention, the water vapor in the water will not flow. No sound is generated as the power is no longer supplied.

Also, at this time, water no longer exists in the trap section 20 until the water level reaches the storage tank 14, leaving only an air layer, thus preventing water from flowing into the heat exchanger 12 again due to water pressure.

Since the storage tank 14 is located higher than the heat exchanger 12, water normally flows from the storage tank 14 to the heat exchanger 12 when the circulation pump 18 is stopped. With the provision of the section 16, water will not flow from the storage tank 14 even if the heat exchanger 12 becomes empty.

In this state, if the combustion burner 2 is extinguished or the heating power is reduced, air is sucked into the heat exchanger 12 through the air opening 16 and the hot air heating operation can be continued.

Further, instead of the trap section 20, a valve device 22 may be provided in the middle of the conduit 21, and the valve device 22 may be closed when the floor heating is stopped and only hot air heating is operated.
