Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a power from being used wastefully by reducing beam distribution in a direction where an obstacle exists in the neighborhood of the mounting position of an antenna, by changing an antenna pattern by a phase shifter. CONSTITUTION:Antenna devices RAD1 and RAD2 are connected to a hybrid circuit HYB via the phase shifters PS1 and PS2, respectively. By setting the phase quantities phi1 and phi2 of the phase shifters PS1 and PS2 differently from each other, a sum pattern and a differential pattern can be obtained at output terminals J11 and J12. Therefore, such synthetic pattern is different from a horizontally symmetric pattern, and is formed asymmetrically. In such a way, the pattern can be deformed arbitrarily by applying the adjustment on the phase quantities phi1 and phi2. By applying such adjustment, feeding energy in the direction where the obstacle exists in the neighborhood of the mounting position of the antenna can be reduced, and by distributing the energy in the direction where no obstacle exists, receiving energy can be utilized effectively.
