CONSTITUTION:At least the contact surface of the rotary cylinder 1 with the magnetic medium 2 is formed of the superconducting material. The magnetic medium 2 having a magnetic field is floated by a Meissner effect from the surface of the rotary cylinder which prohibits the passage of magnetic fluxes, by which the friction resistance between the surface of the rotary cylinder and the magnetic medium is decreased. As a result, the wear of the magnetic head mounted on the rotary cylinder is decreased.
