Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can simplify a hydrophilicity imparting treatment and can give a hydrophilic molding excellent in antistatic property, water absorption performances and resistance to washing, by mixing a polyester composed of specified components with a polyethylene glycol component. CONSTITUTION:The title composition having an intrinsic viscosity >=0.2 and such a solubility that 10g of this composition and perfectly dissolve in 10g of tetrahydrofuran at 60 deg.C, obtained by mixing a polyester composed of an acid component (A) comprising 95-60mol.% aromatic dicarboxylic acid component and 5-40mol.% fumaric and/or maleic acid component and a diol component (B) comprising 2-6C aliphatic glycol component with 30-80wt.% polyethylene glycol component (C) of an MW of 400-6,000. By applying this composition to a molding, especially, a polyester molding, and heat-treating it, it is possible to impart washing-resistant hydrophilicity to the molding without any crosslinking agent.
