Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in water resistance and washability with water, by adding a polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester to a water-based block printing ink comprising a pigment, an alkali-soluble resin, an alkaline agent and a high-boiling water-soluble organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:0.5-7wt.% polyoxyethylene sorbitol fatty acid ester (E) such as polyoxyethylene(60)sorbitol tetraoleate is added to a water-based block printing ink comprising 5-25wt.% at least one pigment (A) selected from among carbon black, TiO2, iron oxide red, loess, Hansa Yellow G, Carmine 3B, ultramarine blue, phthalocyanine (green), etc., 5-20pts.wt. alkali-soluble resin (B) such as a (meth)acrylic resin, a styrene/acrylic resin, a (styrene/)maleic acid resin or a rosin-modified maleic acid resin, 10-55wt.% (based on component B) alkaline agent (C) such as NH3, morpholine or an alkanolamine and 10-40wt.% high-boiling water-soluble organic solvent (D) such as triethylene glycol or (di)ethylene glycol.
