PURPOSE:To exactly and efficiently execute color coating and formation of plain halftone films by displaying extracted image data on a display, executing color coating successively with colors attached with dot percent data and forming color sepn. plates for plate making for printing in accordance with the color sepn. data. CONSTITUTION:The image data inputted and stored into a memory means 18 is adequately thinned by an input image plane display means 12 and the entire part of the figure is displayed on the display 17. Part thereof is extracted and displayed on the display 17 without thinning. A color table forming means 13 forms the color table for corresponding the dot percent data to the respective colors to be coated on the display 17 and a color separating means 14 executes color coating successively with the colors attached with the dot percent data. This color sepn. data is stored in the means 18 and is then outputted. An original plate forming means 1 forms the color sepn. plate for plate making for printing. The color coating operation is thereby exactly and rapidly executed.
