Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the image quality extremely approximate to the quality or a printed image by incorporating a novolak resin having a specific weight average mol. wt. and number average mol. wt. into a colored photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:This colored image forming material has the colored photosensitive layer contg. a photosensitive compsn. and coloring agent on a base and is subjected to imgewise exposure through a color sepn. mask then to development by which the colored image is formed thereon. The colored image formed in such a manner is directly transferred and laminated onto a material to be transferred. The surface of the base is subjected to a release treatment using a suitable oil-repellent material or a release layer is provided on the base. A silicone resin, fluoroplastic or fluorine surfactant, etc., are used for the oil- repellent material. Alcohol soluble polyamide, alcohol soluble nylon, etc., are usable as the release layer. A polyester film, more particularly biaxially stretched polyethylene phthalate film are preferable as the transparent base of the colored image forming material. The transferred image having the quality extremely approximate to the quality of the printed image is thereby obtd.
