Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an underwater antifouling coating agent having a small slip angle of a film surface and an excellent antifouling property, by mixing a specified copolymer with a surface lubricant. CONSTITUTION:An underwater antifouling coating agent of a viscosity at 25 deg.C <=150P is obtained by dissolving 5-80wt.% polymer of a monomer (a) of formula I [wherein X and Y are each H or methyl or a group of formula II (wherein R' is H, alkyl or phenyl), n is 0-5, m >=1, R1-3 are each alkyl, alkoxyl (substituted)phenyl or (substituted)phenoxyl and R4-5 are each R1 or an organosiloxane group of formula III (wherein R1-3'' are each R1 or an organosiloxane group of formula III)] or copolymer comprising monomer (a) and 5-95wt.% copolymerizable vinyl polymerizable monomer (b) (e.g., methyl methacrylate) and having a weight-average MW of 1,000-1,500,000 and, optionally, 1-70wt.% surface lubricant (e.g., paraffin wax) in an organic solvent (e.g., toluene).
