Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply cook tasty rice via proper heating while avoiding such a trouble as an erroneous operation without complicating the operation by providing a means automatically judging whether the polished rice of the menu of the cooked object in a pot is intended for just steamed rice or steamed rice with red beans, and setting the proper rice cooking completion temperature based on the judgment. CONSTITUTION: This rice cooker is provided with a heater 2 heating a pot 1 from the bottom section, an ambient temperature detector 3 detecting the ambient temperature in the pot 1, and a temperature rising rate calculating means 4 reading the detection signal of the ambient temperature detector 3 and calculating the temperature rising rate at the time of heating with the prescribed heat quantity. The menu of the cooked object in the pot 1 is judged by a menu judging means 5 based on the calculated result, and the rice cooking completion temperature is determined by a rice cooking completion determining means 6 based on the judged result. The determined rice cooking completion temperature and the detection signal of a pot bottom temperature detector 7 are read by a rice cooking completion temperature detecting means 8 to detect whether or not the pot bottom temperature reaches the rice cooking completion temperature. The heating of the heater 2 is controlled based on this detected output.
