Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the time necessary for gelatinization regardless of rice cooking quantity and improve the taste of rice by receiving a boiling detection signal by a rice cooking heating control means, continuing the boiling by a timer means, and displaying gelatinization completion by a display means after transferring steaming process to heat retaining process. CONSTITUTION: When it is detected by a lid sensor 4 and a boiling detecting means 7 that rice reaches the boiling temperature, the time necessary for gelatinization is counted by a timer 8, the residual time is displayed on a residual time indicator 19d, and a gelatinization progress display lamp 19c is lighted. When it is detected by a rice cooking process completion detecting means 5 that the detected temperature by a pan bottom sensor 3 is raised by the boiling temperature, a rice cooking heater 2 is off by a rice cooking heating control means 6 and transferred to steaming process. Thereafter, the gelatinization of rice starch and steaming processes are completed by the timer means 8, a display lamp 19 a of rice cooking process is extinguished, the display time of the residual time indicator is zero, and a display lamp 19b of heat retaining process is lighted. The gelatinization progress display lamp 19c displays the gelatinization completion after transferred to the heat retaining process, and is extinguished after a fixed time.
