Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain satisfactory white balance adjustment by limiting the size of a color to a slice level when there is the strong color (the color of large saturation) in a pattern and averaging it. CONSTITUTION:When color difference signals (ER-EY) and (EB-RY) generated from a signal obtained by photographing of an object are respectively integrated and the mean value of the whole of a screen is obtained, the color difference signal stronger than a level(slice level) (the strong color difference signal) is not integrated but in place of the strong color difference signal, the slice level is integrated. Namely, even when the average of the whole screen of an original picture is not gray, approach to the gray can be executed by integrating information to remove a strong color from the original picture. Thus, the erroneous control of a color failure can be erased.
