Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate an unnecessary record on an optical card and to attain a high-speed access by moving an optical spot to a different position when the titled device stands idle in a condition where an AT and an AF operate, and the variation or the change ratio of a reflected light quantity or a transmitted light quantity from the optical card exceeds a set value. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 16 is composed of a semiconductor laser 11, a collimator lens 12, a beam splitter 13, an objective lens 14 and a photo detector 15. A focus control circuit 24 and a tracking control circuit 23 move the objective lens 14 in a light axis direction and a direction orthogonal to the light axis respectively, and execute the auto-focusing (AF) and the auto-tracking (AT). When the variation or the change ratio of the reflected light or the transmitted light exceeds the prescribed set value, irradiated light standing still on an optical information recording medium (optical card) 1 is moved to a new position. Thus, when the record of an unnecessary erroneous signal is not executed for the optical card 1, and the new recording and reproducing are executed, high-sped access is attained.
