Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a block copolymer resin having excellent transparency, heat resistance and impact resistance, by preparing the block copolymer in such a way that specific vinyl segments have another vinyl segment provided between them and are placed at the both ends. CONSTITUTION:A segment A is prepared in such a way that a cpd. represented by formula I (wherein R<1> is H or methyl; R<2> is H, halogen atom or 1-3C alkyl; Y is O, OCH2CH2O; n is 1-4) constitutes 80wt.% or more of the constituent monomer units. A segment B is prepd. in such a way that a cpd. represented by formula II constitutes 80wt.% or more of the constituent monomer units and the glass transition temp. of this segment B alone is 40 deg.C or lower. The segment B is also prepd. in such a way that the MW of the segment B is 5,000-60,000 and the wt. ratio of the segment B in this block copolymer is 5-30wt.%. A block copolymer represented by A-B-A and whose no.-average MW is 3,000 or more is thereby obtd.
