Abstract
PURPOSE:To skip only the working process related to a defective tool and to minimize the deterioration of the working ratio of an automatic machine tool, by using a tool control means which decides the propriety for the application of a selected tool, a means which stores the result of decision obtained by the tool control means. CONSTITUTION:A tool controller 11 decides the propriety for the application of tools and stores the result of this decision into a nonvolatile memory 7. A numerically controlled processing machine 23 selects a relevant tool by a program set previously and in accordance with the corresponding workpiece and carries out the working processes. In this case, the machine 23 refers to the memory 7 and excludes the working processes when a relevant tool is inapplicable or the tool needed for the premised working process using said tool is inapplicable. Thus only the machining processes are skipped in relation to the tools having defects in terms of the breakage, the lifetime, etc. As a result, the damage is minimized and the delay is limited only to the time needed for the processes related to the broken tool. Thus the deterioration of the working ratio is minimized and the recovery is attained in a short time for the machining jobs of the next day.
