Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the subject heat-treating device designed to form a nonwoven fabric high in strength and Young's modulus and suppressed in shrinkage by laminating latitudinally and longitudinally strong webs and heat-treating the webs whose side edges held between a tensioned endless belt and heat cylinder. CONSTITUTION: This device operates as follows: laminating a longitudinally strong web 1 on a latitudinally strong web 2 by an endless belt 3; transferring it to a heat cylinder 5 through a nip roll 4; holding the side edges of the lamination of the longitudinal web 1 and latitudinal web 2 on the heat cylinder 5 by a pressing force between the belt 3 and cylinder 5; heat-treating it while preventing the latitudinal shrinkage; bonding the longitudinal web 1 to the latitudinal web 2; perfecting the adhesion by the nip power of a compression roll 7; and cooling it via a cooling cylinder; and then extracting the nip roll 9, thus obtaining the woven fabric.
