Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a fixed drum type device for measuring the length of a weft and storing the weft, capable of constantly maintaining the speed of the weft and reducing the resistance of unwinding on a picking operation, wherein the weft to be fed to a weft-storing drum is preliminarily wound on a length- measuring drum and subsequently fed to the weft-storing drum. CONSTITUTION: A disk or arms on which transfer projections 37 are disposed are fixed to the rotary shaft 16 of a weft-feeding rotary guide 2 and projected from a space between a length-measuring drum 8 and a weft-storing drum 10. The weft to be fed to the weft-storing drum 10 is preliminarily wound on the length-measuring drum 8 several times to prevent the slippage of the weft and constantly maintain the speed of the weft to be fed to the length-measuring drum 8. When a gripper is closed to release the tension of a weft in the state of restrained flying, the transfer projections 37 are separated from the weft, and at about one rotation, the wet is transferred using the front edges of the projections 37 from the length-measuring drum 8 to the weft-storing drum 10.
