Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the acurate positioning of a sheet material at a comparatively high speed by mounting an edge part positioning means comprising a means for positioning an edge of a first sheet to a corresponding edge of a second sheet, and a means for moving the sheets so that they are brought into contact with each other to be pasted with the aligned relationship. CONSTITUTION: A pick-up assembly 32 picks up a top edge part of each sheet member 18, and a conveying assembly 32 holds the top edge part when the sheet member is moved in a direction of a connecting frame 36. The connecting frame 36 comprises a main frame member 50 and an aligning bar 52, and the former supports the latter by a supporting arm 54. A plunger bar 56 and an arm 58 are moved in two directions on a plane in parallel with a belt 12 when they are moved in a belt direction or a separating direction, that is, a sheet 14 direction to the main frame member 50 and the aligning bar 52. When the edge parts of the sheets are temporarily aligned, a cable system lowers the plunger bar 56 and the arm 58 with a member 18 held by a cup 60 so that the member 18 is brought into contact with an adhesion side of the sheet 14.
