Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the recording and reproducing quantity of information and to prevent deterioration in picture quality of a reproduced pattern by providing a synthesis circuit synthesizing even number fields of a 1st video signal and odd number fields of a 2nd video signal alternately for each field and outputting the result, a field discrimination circuit, a switching control circuit and a selection circuit. CONSTITUTION:The 1st video signal A is given to an input section (a) of a synthesis circuit 5 and the 2nd video signal B is given to an input section (b). when a moving terminal (t) of a changeover switch 8 is thrown to the position (r) in response to a synthesis switching signal outputted from a synchronizing separator circuit 9, the 1st video signal A is outputted from an output section (c) of the synthesis circuit 5. When the switch is thrown to the position of contact (s), the 2nd video signal B is outputted. Thus, a synthesized video signal C of both the video signals A, B is outputted from the output section (c) of the synthesis circuit 5. The shape of the synthesized video signal C in this way is entirely the same as that of a conventional standard video signal. Thus, the picture quality of the reproduced pattern is not deteriorated and the information recording and reproducing quantity is increased.
