Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to surely prevent a speed lock mechanism from being changed over into a release condition due to asymmetric brake operation, in such an arrangement that the speed lock device for holding a continuously variable transmission in a transmitting condition is released when both right and left running brake pedals are operated. CONSTITUTION:A continuously variable transmission 3 for running a vehicle, may be automatically restored into a transmission stop condition, and may be held in a transmitting condition by means of a speed lock mechanism 22. When a pair of left and right running brake pedals 26, 27 are both depressed, the speed lock mechanism 22 is released by means of a linkage mechanism 32. In this arrangement, the linkage mechanism 32 is constituted so that pedal sides links 28a, 28b are pivotally attached to both ends of an interlocking link 29 formed therein with an elongated hole 33 extending in the transverse direction of the vehicle body, and a coupling pin 34 provided to one end of a lock mechanism side link 30 having the other end coupled to a release operating section 25 in the speed lock mechanism 22 is inserted in the slotted hole 33 in the interlocking link 29. With this arrangement, it is possible to surely prevent the speed lock mechanism from being released due to asymmetric brake operation.
