Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to eliminate a lack in clutch pressure during accelerating manipulation so as to enhance the running ability by providing such an arrangement that, when an accelerating manipulation is performed after a specific operating condition is detected, a clutch pressure is applied to a hydraulic clutch in accordance with the degree of the accelerating manipulation. CONSTITUTION:A belt drive type continuously variable transmission 2 is composed of a primary pressure control valve 44 as a speed change control valve, a constant pressure control valve 48, a line pressure control valve 54 and a clutch pressure control valve 62 in a hydraulic circuit, and the valves 44, 54, 62 are controlled by a control section 90 through solenoid valves 52, 60, 68, respectively. The clutch pressure control valve 62 is provided so as to control the clutch pressure of a hydraulic clutch 74. In this arrangement, when an accelerating manipulation is performed after a specific operating condition such as, for example, that a shift lever is repeatedly shifted between the drive range and the neutral range at a vehicle speed higher than, for example, 8km/h, is detected, the control section 90 controls the clutch pressure control solenoid valve 68 so as to produce a clutch pressure in accordance with the degree of the accelerating manipulation.
